3. What the service is
Flick is a temporary file transfer tool. An uploaded file gets a short code, for example ocean-tiger-42, which the sender passes to the recipient. The file is deleted automatically once the chosen expiry is reached or the allowed number of downloads is used up.
The service is not storage, not a backup solution and not an archiving tool. Detailed rules of use are set out in the terms of use.
4. Intellectual property
The Flick software is free software distributed under the MIT licence. Its source code is published at https://github.com/Flick-Corp/flick and may be read, modified and reused under that licence.
The Flick name, logo and visual identity remain the property of their authors: the MIT licence covers the code, not the brand and the graphic assets.
Files sent by users remain the property of their owners. The publishers claim no right over their content.
5. Reporting unlawful content
For files uploaded by users, the publishers act as a hosting service provider within the meaning of article 6 of regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services and article 6 of French law no. 2004-575 of 21 June 2004 on confidence in the digital economy. They carry out no general monitoring of those files and promptly remove any manifestly unlawful content reported to them.
Reports go to matteo.tutti@epitech.eu, which also serves as the point of contact. In line with article 16 of the digital services regulation, please include:
- a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why you consider the content unlawful;
- the transfer code or the exact page address, so the content can be located precisely;
- your name and email address, except where the report concerns an offence referred to in articles 3 to 7 of directive 2011/93/EU;
- a statement confirming your good faith belief that the information in the report is accurate and complete.
We acknowledge receipt without delay, handle the report within 72 hours and inform you of the decision taken and the redress available. No removal decision is taken by automated means. Given the expiry times in force, a reported transfer has usually already disappeared by the time the report is handled.
Presenting content as unlawful while knowing that this information is inaccurate, in order to obtain its removal, is punishable by one year of imprisonment and a fine of 15,000 euros under article 6 of the LCEN.
6. Reporting a security flaw
Security flaws must be reported privately, never through a public issue or merge request. The procedure, response times and maintainer addresses are in the SECURITY.md file of the https://github.com/Flick-Corp/flick repository.
7. External links
The site links to external resources, in particular the source repository hosted by GitHub. The publishers have no control over those sites and accept no responsibility for their content.
8. Personal data and cookies
Personal data processing is described in the privacy policy. Flick uses no advertising tracker and no third-party analytics tool.
9. Governing law
